前半身淺白、後半身深黑的對比體色格外醒目，生著一對肉質發達的厚唇，常在礁石底質大口吸入砂石啃嚼。

小知識

嘴唇肥厚如膠質軟墊，是專門翻食底棲無脊椎動物的利器；牠們常大口吞入混雜沙石的碎屑，在口腔內分離出小型螺類與甲殼類後，再將殘砂一口噴出，宛如一台海底吸塵器。

Equipped with massive, fleshy lips designed to forage benthic invertebrates; it scoops up mouthfuls of sand and rubble, sorting out small crustaceans and snails before spitting out the unwanted substrate.
