身披亮紅戰甲，頭部輪廓略呈圓凸，鰓蓋邊緣帶著明顯的暗紅色血斑。

Bright red body with a slightly rounded head profile and a dark margin along the gill cover.

與多數鋸鱗魚一樣擁有巨大的夜視眼，白天靜靜在深水礁洞內倒掛歇息，夜晚出發覓食。

Equipped with large nocturnal eyes, hanging motionless inside deep reef caves by day to emerge at night.
