Covered in an intricate chessboard array of dark markings over a translucent pale body, darting gracefully across sunlit reef sand flats.

Boasts a highly refined checkerboard pattern of dark spots that blends seamlessly into coral sand; unlike shrimp gobies, it lives independently on sand flats, using characteristic stop-and-go hops to forage.
