簡介

身形極其微小的囊舌類海蛞蝓，半透明的軀體常透出攝食海藻後留下的翠綠葉綠體，終生潛藏於囊狀大型藻類內部。

A minuscule sacoglossan sea slug with a translucent body tinted emerald-green from ingested chloroplasts, living concealed deep inside vesicular algae.

小知識

種名「endophytophaga」意為「植物內部攝食者」；牠們演化出極為罕見的內生寄居習性，會鑽入氣門藻（Boergesenia）等巨型單細胞囊狀綠藻內部，整隻躲在藻胞腔內吸吮細胞汁液，獲取食物的同時也得到完美的庇護所。

Its species name means "feeding inside plants"; it possesses a unique endophytic lifestyle, boring directly into the hollow fluid-filled vesicles of single-celled giant green algae to feast on cell sap from the inside.
