簡介

比沙丁魚還要小一號的銀色小魚。在北歐，牠們經常被整條煙燻或是浸泡在香料油中製成罐頭。

A small silver fish, even tinier than a sardine. In Northern Europe, they are often smoked whole or canned in spiced oil.

這種小魚的脂肪含量極高，在過去物資匱乏的年代，甚至被窮人點燃當作蠟燭來照明。

Packed with so much oil that, in times of extreme poverty, people literally threaded wicks through them and burned them as candles.
