An olive-green wrasse adorned with intricate contour-like purplish-blue map markings, trailing elegant filament lobes from its caudal fin.

Juveniles are dark with scattered white dots and swim tilted in the current, mimicking floating debris or dead leaves to evade predators; mature males develop striking crescent filaments on their tails.
