Ivory-white banded with five rich maroon-brown bars, its sharp eyes vigilantly scanning the water as the faithful sentinel of a shared pistol shrimp burrow.

小知識

與近乎全盲的共生槍蝦（鼓蝦）演化出令人驚嘆的互利共生；槍蝦負責挖掘清理複雜的地下地道系統，而視力敏銳的蝦虎魚則趴在洞口充當「哨兵」，一旦偵測到危險便擺動尾鰭向觸鬚搭在其身上的槍蝦發送警報並一同躲入洞中。

Maintains a renowned mutualistic relationship with pistol shrimps; the nearly blind shrimp excavates and maintains the underground burrow while the keen-eyed goby acts as a sentry, flicking its tail to warn the shrimp via antenna contact when predators approach.
