Has short barbels around its mouth. Because its body is incredibly slippery, it is nicknamed the "ginseng of the water."

天氣悶熱氣壓低時，泥鰍會浮出水面吞嚥空氣，並用腸道進行呼吸，因此被稱為「氣象魚」。

During low atmospheric pressure, they gulp air at the surface and breathe through their intestines, earning them the name "weather fish."
