小知識

海兔螺科的成員活著時，外套膜幾乎把整個殼包住，顏色還會跟宿主相近。牠用細長的腳抓緊八放珊瑚啃食珊瑚蟲，嚴格來說算寄生者。

Like other ovulids, it keeps its mantle wrapped over the shell most of the time, coloured to blend in with its host. A long, narrow foot grips the octocoral while it grazes on the polyps, which makes it technically a parasite.
