A keystone species of the North Pacific. In Japan, their roe is processed into "Kazunoko," a lucky food eaten during New Year.

當受到驚嚇時，牠們會從肛門排出氣泡並發出高頻率的聲音，科學家認為這是牠們在黑暗中的溝通方式。

When startled, they expel bubbles from their anuses to produce high-frequency sounds, which scientists believe is a way to communicate in the dark.
