簡介

銀藍色的流線身軀環繞著五至七道深色垂直寬帶，終生緊隨大型鯊魚、魟魚或海龜身側伴游。

A silvery-blue pelagic fish encircled by bold dark vertical bands, famed for swimming closely alongside sharks, rays, and sea turtles.

小知識

水手傳說中牠們會替迷航的船隻或視力不佳的巨鯊「領航」，因而得名領航魚；其實牠們是利用大魚游動時產生的流體力學尾流省力巡航，並清理宿主身上的體外寄生蟲與獵食殘渣。

Ancient mariners believed it guided lost ships and near-blind sharks to safety, earning its name "pilotfish"; in reality, it rides the hydrodynamic bow waves of large hosts to conserve energy while dining on their parasites and food scraps.
