An olive-brown reef hunter bearing a prominent snowy-white band around its tail base, scanning reef slopes with keen, mobile eyes.

Instantly recognized by the bright white ring encircling the base of its tail; armed with sharp canine teeth to crush sea urchins, it frequently shadows foraging goatfish to snatch flushed invertebrates.
