通體覆滿如蜂巢般的緊密六角形深褐網斑，在網格交界處綴有純白星芒亮點，宛如天然迷彩。

Densely blanketed in a honeycomb matrix of hexagonal brown spots punctuated by tiny white star-like dots at the intersections, perfectly camouflaged on the reef.

體表深色斑紋呈緊密排列的六角蜂窩狀，最顯著特徵是多個六角斑交界處生有細小的白色星狀小點，背鰭基底具有四個深色鞍狀大斑，擅長伏擊近底小魚。
