The male grows a spectacularly long red filament from his dorsal fin, waving it around like a rhythmic gymnast's ribbon.

小知識

典型的一夫多妻制。雄魚體色比雌魚鮮豔得多，且背鰭第三棘極度延長。當雄魚死亡，最大的雌魚會變性接替。

They live in a harem system. The vibrant male uses his elongated dorsal spine to show off. If he dies, the largest female undergoes a sex change to replace him.
