體背上緣烙印著三枚醒目的深黑圓斑，纖巧捲曲的尾巴緊纏海扇或海草，以管狀小嘴無聲吸食微小浮游生物。
Bearing three distinct dark spots along its dorsal ridge, grasping sea fans with a prehensile tail while silently snapping up tiny plankters.
小知識
背部邊緣生有三顆清晰深色斑點因而得名；由雄海馬承擔「懷孕」重任，腹部的育兒袋負責接收雌魚卵子並受精，在袋內供給氧氣與營養孵育數週，直至小海馬完全成形噴射分娩。
Named for the three prominent dark spots along its back; exhibits male pregnancy, where the male carries eggs inside a specialized brood pouch, supplying oxygen and nutrients until giving birth to fully formed fry.
