牠的胸鰭和尾鰭下葉極度延長，這讓牠們能穩穩地「站」在泥濘的深海海底，不費吹灰之力地捕捉漂流過的小蝦。

To save energy in the food-scarce deep sea, it points its mouth into the current and stands perfectly still on its extended pelvic and tail fins, waiting for plankton to drift in.
